Official: Finance ministry can raise OFZ bond offering next week
MOSCOW, Nov 22 (PRIME) -- The Russian Finance Ministry can raise the OFZ bond offering next week, Deputy Minister Sergei Storchak told reporters on Thursday.
“We will try to offer even more next week. We will try to catch the market trend. And as usual, the decision on how much to offer and what duration will be made on Tuesday,” Storchak said.
Konstantin Vyshkovsky, head of the debt department, said earlier in November that the Finance Ministry hopes to raise the amount of OFZ bond placement to 20–30 billion rubles per week soon. Storchak confirmed the intent.
The ministry believes that the OFZ bond yield is too high but cannot break the market, Storchak said.
Storchak also said that the Finance Ministry expects that in 2019 the domestic debt market will change constantly.
